I graduated from Penn State in 2000 and worked as an oilfield engineer and a consultant for the Dept. of Commerce before becoming a full-time strength coach and personal trainer in 2005. I was introduced to CrossFit in 2007, received my Level 1 certification in 2008, and have been coaching ever since. Outside of the gym, I can be found rock climbing, camping, and wandering aimlessly. I am a self-proclaimed expert on chocolate chip cookies and think that anyone who does not enjoy a good cup of coffee cannot be trusted.

My interest in sports started when I was young and has continued as an adult. Throughout my life, I’ve been involved in league sports including football, softball, and basketball as well as track and weight lifting. I was first introduced to CrossFit in 2009 and was hooked from the start.
That same year, I began interning at a CrossFit box so that I could better understand the principles and techniques of this training method.
In November 2013, I received my CrossFit Level 1 Trainer certification and have been coaching ever since. I’m passionate about coaching our members at CrossFit Sterling and seeing them achieve their fitness and life goals

CrossFit Level 1 Trainer

I’ve been an exercise enthusiast my entire life, growing up doing ballet and dance through college and then teaching aerobics classes. In 2009, I attended my first CrossFit class and fell in love with it, and, in November 2013, I became a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. Since then, I’ve been coaching and encouraging our members in their CrossFit journey. I feel blessed to be able to walk alongside these amazing people and see how CrossFit improves not only their physical fitness, but also helps them understand that they have the capacity to do way more than they think they can.

I love and believe in the power of fitness and health, so much so that it is my life both in my full-time career as a Regional Director for Aquila Health and in my personal life, as co-owner of CrossFit Sterling. I’ve always been passionate about movement, first as a gymnast, and then studying exercise science in college. I’ve been a certified personal trainer since 2007, taught cycle, yoga and group exercise classes classes, ran 5 marathons, and then found CrossFit in 2011. I quickly became addicted to the workouts and the community feel that came along with it and became a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer in 2012. When Ben and I were dating, we often talked about our dream of opening our own gym one day. Now, we feel so blessed that we were able to carry out this dream! After giving birth to my son in November, 2016 my workouts have taken a bit of a backseat, 😉 but now I’m learning how to stay healthy and strong while working full-time and being a full-time mom!  I look forward to meeting you at our gym!
